UniLodge Lincoln House

UniLodge Lincoln House is student accommodation, so residents need to be studying. UniLodge does house non-students at selected properties — see the Non-Students page for the list.

You can apply directly via the University of Melbourne accommodation portal. Or you can apply directly with UniLodge Lincoln House on the UniLodge website.

Yes. There is a non-refundable application fee of $100 if you book through the University of Melbourne website.  UniLodge does not charge an application fee if booked directly in person or online via the website.

If you or your family need somewhere to stay for a couple of nights to a week, or rest your head after coming in from a late-night flight then why not book at Essence Hotel Carlton. Offering comfortable rooms that give you the freedom to relax in a place away from home.

Check in appointment times are available: Monday to Friday at 10am or 2pm. Please be aware that if you are arriving after-hours, you will need to arrange for out-of-hours key collection with reservations prior to arrival.

Ensure that you have notified us during business hours of your after hours arrival details so that we can prepare the after hours Residential Advisor who will be on duty. You will need to come down during business hours to do a formal check-in.

Complete the Online Application Begin by submitting your application through the UniLodge's reservation portal or University of Melbourne's accomodation portal Receive and Accept Your Rental Offer Upon approval, you'll receive a rental offer. To accept: Pay the first two weeks' rent. Select and pay for any additional service options you desire. Pay the Bond Before moving in, a bond equal to one month's rent is required. This bond is refundable at the end of your lease, subject to the terms of your agreement. Please note, a non-refundable application fee of $100 applies if you book through the University of Melbourne. There is no application fee if you book through UniLodge.

We offer 6 and 12 month leases, however from time to time we are able to offer shorter lease periods. Please contact UniLodge team member at reception if you have any further questions about this.

An Ensuite Bedroom includes the following - toilet, shower, basin with storage cabinet.

This property does not allow pets.

The Residential Life Program is an integrated, contemporary, student life program, run by UniLodge for our residents. It is designed to support and bring out the best in each resident through the duties and activities carried out by Senior residents, Residential Advisors, the Residential Life Manager, the Customer service staff, and the General Manager.

There are two main room types for you to choose from: Standard Bedroom  Ensuite Bedroom  Superior Ensuite

You do not have a kitchenette in your room - however what you will have access to is an amazing Communal Kitchen and Dining area for all your cooking requirements.

The common area kitchen and dining area are regularly cleaned by cleaners appointed by UniLodge. The cleaners’ duties do not include tasks that are your responsibility such as:  Washing up your dirty dishes Removing rubbish and placing it in the rubbish bins ($50 penalties may apply) Any items left in the common area kitchen will be thrown away into the rubbish. Any sink blocked by food must be reported to a UniLodge staff member. Charges may apply.

A ‘tap & go’ Eftpos operated laundry with washing machines and dryers is located on level 2, next to the sports lounge.

UniLodge Lincoln House only stores bicycles in a secure basement storage room. You are not permitted to leave your bike in your room or outside your room, as it can cause damage to the wall or carpet that you will be liable for.

Car parking is not available at the property. Fortunately there is a University-operated car park near our buildling. The location of carparks can be found here - Parking on campus (unimelb.edu.au)

All mail and parcels are received by reception and can be collected during office hours (grocery and meal deliveries will not be accepted by UniLodge).

There is a Hydronic heater installed in your room. At no time should this be covered, or obstructed in any way. Clothing and laundry items cannot be hung over the heater as this is a dangerous fire hazard.

If you need to end your lease before the scheduled end date, please contact our office to discuss your options. Early termination is subject to the terms of your lease agreement, including applicable notice requirements and financial responsibilities. We recommend reaching out as soon as possible so we can guide you through the process.
